The California Reading List number is found in the lower left-hand corner of the home report sent to parents for the Stanford Achievement test taken in the spring.

If you don't have this number, but would like to find your child's level, there a a few things you can do:

Sign-up for a free Lexile test from iRead. This site uses the same Lexile measurement as the state test.

Visit the library with a list of books with a known Lexile measurement. Listen to your child read and use your judgment for what level is best.

Ask your child's teacher. Many schools have resources available to test your child in order to find their lexile measurement. Scholastic supports Lexiles in their Reading Counts and Reading 180 programs. These programs test students for a Lexile measurement using the Scholastic Reading Inventory.
